Storybook Favorites

The first storybook I chose to view was Lord Rama: The Greatest OU Football player.
I chose it because the title had an element I recognized. The cover page then intrigued me. Its clean and simple with elements I again recognized. It had photos of OU’s football stadium and a photo of who I assume to be Rama.

Since I am a design major I would like to talk about the design. This is a very clean layout, its easy to navigate and find what your looking for. I would like to have a clean layout because I think a clean layout could handle a complex story. I don’t think a site needs to be busy to be visual interesting. Visual interest leads to readers when accompanied by a good story.

My second favorite was Food and Culture: An Indian Scrapbook. For one I love to eat, so that may have been a helping factor in that decision. The photos in this storybook were very well done.  They have great color and are very visually interesting. I think the introduction was well thought out as well.

My favorite feature of this storybook is that a recipe section was provided. You can’t show me delicious looking food and expect me not to want to eat it!

My third and final favorite was Tales of Love. Who doesn’t love a good love story!
I loved the background image of this site. It is very whimsical and inviting and it gives me a since of hope that this is a story of true love.

The introduction was very inviting and drew me in from the get go. Now I am wondering just what dangers of love there can be for Gods and Goddesses. Overall this storybook also had a simple layout, which I enjoyed.

Can't wait to get started on my storybook!!

  1. Hey Shelly!

I didn't chose any of the storybooks you chose, which is great because this gives me another example of a storybook to draw inspiration from. I really liked the first book you picked! I am a giant sports fan so I really enjoyed seeing the photos of the football stadium. I completely agree with you that having a very clean and visually appealing storybook helps with the complexity that can come with these storybooks.
