Online Education Review

I have taken several online classes! I even took english comp 1 and 2 online. Honestly I think I prefer online classes. One of those reasons is you know how much work there is going to be as soon as the class starts and you can normally work ahead. In a classroom setting you are dealing with many personalities and learning types which are still experienced in an online class by the instructor but very little of other students. I am not even sure if my explanations are making sense.... Its very self taught which is I guess what I am getting at. In a classroom its so much easier to get off topic and lose focus. I would totally take courses in my major if they were offered online. I think the least valuable thing about online classes is that the tab for pinterest is so close to where I am doing my homework!!

Week 13 Reading Diary B

Battle preparations are made. Drupada wants a child and prays to shiva about it. Shiva tells him the baby is a boy but it ends up being a girl. Her name is Sikhandini. Drupada was expecting a son so he treats his daughter as if she were a boy. He even arranged a marriage for Sikhandini, but the bride is appalled to find Sikhandini is a woman. She then goes to the forrest and finds a yaksha and asks it to make her into a man. The war begins. Bhisma kills Virata in battle. He also has awesome fighting powers even though he is old. Drona kills Drupada. Drona then thinks his son is dead and falls in despair when in reality an elephant with the same name is killed by Bhima.

Gen. Ed. Review

Since I took a majority of Gen-Ed courses at OCCC this post is tough for me. This is only me second non-major related course at OU. I honestly just took this class to take it because I got all my Gen-Ed Humanities requirements through my Associates degree, which was super cool!! The workload of Gen-Ed courses is so different compared to the workload of my major, which is expected. I still need one regular Gen-Ed class and I have no idea what I want to take! The struggle. The OU Gen- Ed website has a current list so that will be super helpful!

College Writing Review

College Writing. I think writing and my major is a big thing. The good news is I can ask other people to proof read for me, or my clients will provide the writing. When I think about English Comp 1 and Comp 2 I have never been a great proof reader and I would like to improve in that area. This was my first class where I go to write and tell a story. In other classes I have done research papers and things of that nature. I can tell you they are similar but totally different. Researching is telling facts and providing information.  Stroytelling is well…storytelling. I think I need a proof reading class! Is that a thing?! I cannot remember all the writing rules that were iterated at certain instances and then never mentioned again. Personal Goal: Work on proof reading.

Famous Last Words Week 12!

Things are starting to get hectic and out of control, but that can only be expected with finals approaching right? I feel like there is not enough time in one day to accomplish all the things I need to do.  That is why I am hoping to finish this class this week!! I am almost to the points I need! I can do this.

For my design classes it seems every project is due all at once!! Our process book is due the 27th and I haven’t even started. Monday is our final drop for the lightbuld packaging…and I am not sure our bulbs will survive a 10-foot drop. I have projects due for typography on Tuesday. Plus I need to be working on my History of Vis Com project as well.  Typing all that out just makes me what to either take a nap, or have a good cry. Obviously there is no time for that. I totally wish there was time for that whole nap thing; I like naps.

As far as my social life is concerned, I got to have dinner with my boyfriend last night. Which was much needed. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings, and then had a nice shopping trip at the outlet mall! Oh and my dad got a car to replace the one the tornado ate. He got a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

Anyways I am looking forward to finishing up these projects as soon as possible so I can start summer break! I plan to sleep in at least the first week! Then in June I start teaching Graphic Design at Moore Normans Summer Youth Academy and I am totally excited about that! Its fun to get to teach kids the thing I am most passionate about! This will be my first time teach all four weeks, morning and afternoon! I think it will be worth it though.

Tech Tip: Ninja Cat

Today I played Ninja cat. I actually enjoyed it. I had a percentage of 88.2% key accuracy!! I think I will add this to the things I choose to do when I give myself a break from homework or studying!

I also played Type racing. The first time i got 35 words per minute the second I got 28...
This game was a lot tougher because you type full sentences...but I see it as a great took for fasting typing skills!

ADDED the Weather Widget! :)

Google Timer Tech Tip

THIS THING IS GREAT! I always give myself breaks when working on homework and never thought to set a timer. GOOGLE you the real MVP. I don't really have many time management tips but I can see myself adding this one for sure. Normally I am a huge procrastinator...which is terrible. I work best under pressure. Is that weird? Now I can use the timer as the pressure and make a game out of it like pinteresting against the clock!

Week 12 Storytelling : Damayanti's journey.

Its been days since Nala I have seen Nala. I woke with only half the robe. I just know he wouldn’t abandon me. I really just wish he had left those dice alone. Maybe we would still be in our lovely palace, rather than roaming the forest.  I’ll keep searching for him.

Today, the Asectices  advised me to go home to my father. I can’t, I must find Nala. I will look everywhere.

I’m still alone today. All I can think about is Nala trying to catch those birds. It still makes me laugh. I needed something to make me smile…at least I have that. He tried to sneak up on them like a cat… to bad he couldn’t step quietly even if his life depended on it. He then tried to use the robe to drape over him as they pecked that ground. I sat under a tree, wrote in my journal and watched. After a few hours he paraded over to me empty handed. He looked defeated. I held his hand and he explained that the largest of the birds flew off with his robe. I assured him, we could share mine. That was two nights before I woke up without him.

Its been two days since my last entry. I have happened upon a traveling caravan. I hope I can figure out where they are heading. Maybe I will find Nala along the way. I just hate being alone…that’s why I am going to follow them!

They are headed to the kindom of Chedi. I have never been there…but there is a first time for everything. We head out in the next few minutes. I don’t know anyone from the caravan. I hope this isn’t a mistake. Maybe I should have gone home to my father. My father would have probably helped me find Nala.

It’s the next day. We are no where near Chedi yet. I miss Nala so much my body is aching. My chest is tight and I just need his hand to hold or hug. Who knew this would be so hard. I’m not alone, but I feel so alone.  I guess you could say I am homesick. Homesick for something that is familiar, or routine.  I probably should have just gone home. Something doesn’t feel right and I can’t pinpoint what is wrong. We will be in Chedi in about two days.

Author's Note: I wanted to expand the story of Nala and Damayanti. I had no idea what path this story would take as I wrote. I just started typing and this is what happened.
