With Monday being a holiday this week started off slow but
quickly flew into overdrive. I spent Monday afternoon at lacrosse practice,
watching my boyfriend coach. I would like to forget that while at practice I
had a couple spiders crawling on me…NOT COOL. I contemplated screaming at one
point because there was a giant one closing in on me, but having 24 high school
boys look at you like you are crazy didn’t seem worth it. Then learning that
that’s our home field…I’ll be investing in some bug spray for sure. Aside from
that the weather was perfect.

Concerning this class, I think my best writing was my
storytelling post. I enjoyed telling the story without any dialog. Which was
definitely an experiment but a success in my opinion. I would like to try it again, along with a
piece with a lot of dialog. Aside from those two styles I am unsure of others. Any
know of where I can find info on this? Maybe a website with examples?
My design classes are what sent this week into overdrive. I
had projects due that I was super confused on but in the end I think they came
out well. Then I learned of new assignments that we will be working on while
still needed to make minor corrections to those projects we turned in. In
typography we get the opportunity to design our own font. I am not even sure how to begin but that’s
why it’s a learning opportunity.

Communications is finally getting to an interesting point. Hopefully that only
continues.
Even though tomorrow is Monday I am looking forward to the
week. Hoping I can get ahead in this class so that I can make the trip to Texas
for the teams first lacrosse game in a couple of weeks!

Hey Shelly! I hear that Lacrosse is a pretty interesting sport. Though, I hail from East Texas. So, we don't play sports outside of softball, volleyball, baseball, and football, really. I hope that your semester calms down and that you are able to get all of your work done! Best of luck on keeping up!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelly! Can I just say that spiders are NOT OKAY. I would have screamed with no shame if I were you. Ha ha. The storytelling posts are definitely my favorite. I feel like telling a story without any dialogue would be quite hard so I commend you on that! Design seems like such a fun field to get into. Good luck with the semester!
ReplyDeleteHi! I totally sympathize about your bug problem. There was a wasp in my apartment today and I have no idea how it got in since everything all the entries and windows were closed. Handled it like a champ though. As for writing styles, I highly HIGHLY recommend the website called Publishing Crawl. There are posts from published authors about everything from dialogue and prose to character development and tropes. It’s my go to site for creative writing tips. Anyway, I know this Famous Last Words post was several weeks ago, and I hope everything is going well. Spring break is so near!
ReplyDeleteHello Shelly, I am a little late to this post, but I had to read it when you mentioned spiders. I absolutely cant stand spiders, and I would have freaked out. Just the other day I was walking back from class into the parking garage and a spider fell down on me from the ceiling. There were people about so I couldn't freak out, but I did start flailing around to get it off me.
